Sam hadn't been out this way in a long time. Under other circumstances, he might have been looking forward to seeing Bobby again, but that was before he started traveling with something they normally be more inclined to hunt than buddy up with. This wasn't just any vampire though, this was Dean, and hopefully... hopefully Bobby would get that. At least hopefully not try to stake him on sight.
Either way, they were at the end of what they could do on their own. Eric had given them a place to really start from, but Bobby was definitely the guy who could lead them in the right direction when it came to tracking down and killing the demon. Dad wasn't going to help them and Sam wasn't going to call begging him for it... that really would put Dean in danger. Last time they met, he looked about ready to stake Dean if he hadn't been there.
Fidgeting a little in his seat, Sam found himself feeling over his neck again, checking it in the mirror for the hundredth time. He knew he didn't have any visible marks. They couldn't risk that one again with another hunter, even if it was Bobby. He just couldn't help the nagging worry that he'd know anyway, somehow, that Dean fed on him. Hell, that he fed on Dean.
Even if Sam had been trying to lay off the blood for this visit. No way was he showing up strung out on vampire blood either... even if he'd been almost tempted to ask for it. Something to ease up his nerves. Not a smart move though.
When they made the turn into Bobby's, he gave Dean a look over. "So, you ready for this?"

When they made the turn into Bobby's, he gave Dean a look over. "So, you ready for this?"

"Any luck?"
no subject
"You get some rest?"

He returned with coffee and took his seat behind his desk. Back to the books.

He looked up when Bobby took a seat, pausing in his own research for a few moments. His eyes needed a break for a minute... "Bobby, do you think what we're trying to do is really possible? Can you kill a demon?"
no subject
"On the other hand, if there's anyone stubborn enough to find a way to do the impossible, it's one of you Winchesters."
no subject
He didn't think he could rest otherwise. How could he? Not with Mom's and Jessica's death weighing on him more and more. All signs pointed in the direction of it all being even more his fault. He'd never be able to get close to people, not if he was always worrying they'd wind up stuck to a ceiling and burning because of him. That was something he couldn't stomach again.
Attention back on the books, he focused on finding some answer, hopefully.

Dean climbed up to the main floor and wandered into the study. "Evening, folks. Did I miss anything exciting?"

Or maybe he was just being impatient, but damn... it felt like he'd been plenty patient already. Had for way too long.

He moved over to sit at the kitchen table while he drank the blood. Didn't figure Bobby would want to see it.
no subject
"What if there isn't a way to kill it? What are we going to do?"
no subject
"I guess we could try tracking him, again?"
no subject
"Look, there's something that might help... I don't know," he murmured. "Something that started a few days before Jess died. But you gotta promise to not freak out, Dean. Alright?"
no subject
"Okay, Sammy. I'm listening." After all the vampire shit and demon stuff, he couldn't imagine what else Sam was going to come up with to freak him out.

Sam convinced himself to look up and at Dean, trying to judge his reaction.

"Man, I don't know... It's kinda scary, isn't it?" He murmured, giving another look to make sure Bobby wasn't listening in. Wouldn't put it past him... at least he could speak low and know Dean would still be able to hear it though. "I mean, this demon killing people I'm close to like Mom and Jess, now these premonitions... not to mention, you saying my blood is different than other humans. None of it's adding up to anything good, is it?"
And while he wasn't giving up, wanted to get revenge for Jess, Sam would be lying if he said he wasn't worried about what they might find out. "I just want to know what's happening to me, Dean."
no subject
"So you think your visions or whatever are connected to that demon somehow?" That was definitely not good news.
no subject
"But it's a possibility. They happened so close together, I mean..." It just seemed to make sense, no matter how much he wanted to deny it.
"You're not a little freaked out to hear all this, dude?" He kind of figured Dean would be... one of the reasons he'd kept it to himself for so long.
no subject
"So, you said they came after Jess too. What other ones have you had?"
no subject
"Do you think I should tell Bobby?"
no subject
"If you have another one, you'll tell me, right?"
